Imagine looking out over an open plane, a ghost of a mist still lingering, obscuring the early morning light of the sun. The winter has been a tough one, but you know good times are just around the corner as you look to the ground, now thawed enough that you can see the cast of the earthworms in the soil. Spring has arrived, the Worm Moon will rise tonight.
The message we are taking from this month's full moon is one of hope. Spring is when life returns to the world after hibernation. Spring is a time of birth and growth, of feeling sunlight caress your skin after months absent, of birds singing in the trees and the leaves bustling as their new foilage breathes life back into the world.
Spring represents new beginnings and the end of winter's tyranny.
As the theatre of war once more descends and casts its malevolent shadow over Europe, all we can do is hope. Hope that the resolve of the Ukrainian people does not waver, that they hold firm to their beliefs, vindicated in their courage and unity. Despite the grim implications behind Russia's manoeuvring, we at least can take heart in the response of the surrounding countries in lending aid and shelter, as innocents once more seek refuge from the machinations of heartless, greedy, ambitious men.
They say that truth is the first casualty of war, and as the Kremlins propaganda machine gains traction and weaves lies into the story being told to 150 million Russians, we can only hope that truth finds a way to breakthrough. As the Worm Moon rises on the 18th of March, we can only hope it does so upon the end of tyranny.
And for the things that hope can't accomplish, we will be dedicating all profits from the sales of this month's full moon coffee to the refugees. From our abundance, we can reduce their deficit.
