The Native American tribes know the February full moon as The Snow Moon, named due to the heavy snowfalls that month. We found this month's message by taking a closer look at the individual snowflake.
As the water droplet crystallises, the pattern is affected by the temperature and humidity of the environment where it forms. And as no two snowflakes take the same route to the ground, no two are the same.
It's the journey that makes the snowflake unique.
Perhaps this month's moon can be a reminder to us to truly appreciate the impact our environment has on shaping us and how each of our respective journeys has led us to where we are now, at this moment in time. Although undoubtedly, there have been many people close to you your whole life, you are the only person who has experienced life from behind your eyes. And life is very much a subjective experience.
It can raise the question, are you happy to be a product of your environment? Or do you work to make your environment a consequence of your thoughts?
It would be remiss of me to talk of our environment without also speaking of the mind. Although we can't directly physically change the world with our thoughts (I have tried relentlessly since watching Star Wars as a child), they impact how we perceive the world around us; our thoughts can change our experience of the world, and in doing so can change the world itself. Unfortunately, in today's entertainment hungry society, the mind's garden is far too often neglected.
I like the idea that coffee, more than being just a beverage, is a gift of time. It's a ritual you can build into your life, allowing for a little mindfulness (and caffeine) before you start your day.
